The
annual St. Jude Dream Home
Giveaway draws sponsors from
around the area hoping to help
children fight pediatric cancer
and other catastrophic childhood
diseases. By purchasing tickets
for the chance to win fabulously
designed custom home, people
donate to the care of St. Jude's
juvenile patients.
Built by Brittland Properties,
the 2008 St. Jude am home is
located in the Upatoi Glen
division and boasts 3,010 square
feet with four bedrooms and four
and one-half baths. A member of
Southern Living Custom Builder
program, Brittland Properties
constructed Southern Living's
beautiful "Garden Hills" program
home as this year's dream Home.
Valued at approximately
$550,000, the home includes
granite countertops, indoor and
indoor fireplaces, and a three
acre lot. Sponsors from the area
also contributed to the home's
building, including Diversified
Home Specialties who used the
finest materials for lighting
and flooring. DHS also did
custom tile design in many rooms
of the house. Interior designers
Angie Moon and Kim Norman
collaborated to design a
comfortable home, using
furniture from JD Kinder's.
Local sponsors continue to help
the giveaway flourish in
Columbus, and members of the
community continue to support
the goals of St. Jude Hospital.
St.
Jude Children's Research
Hospital holds thousands of
fundraisers each year to help
support the hospital, which
treats children with no regards
to family income. More than one
million volunteers in
communities all over the country
support some 30,000 events that
raise funds on behalf of St.
Jude. The Dream Home Giveaway
started in the early 1990s, and
to date the Dream Home program
has raised more than $100
million nationwide. Local
sponsors continue to help the
giveaway flourish in Columbus,
and members of the community
continue to support the goals of
St. Jude Hospital. This year's
dream home will be given away
April 19th along with several
other lucrative prizes,
including a Nissan Versa from
Rob Doll, a diamond ring from
The Jewelers Touch and a
year's-worth of groceries from
Piggly Wiggly.
The
beautiful St. Jude Dream hope
would not be possible without
the help and support of these
and other sponsors: Alexander
Electric, American Fireplace and
Insulation, Chattahoochee Window
Works, Diversified Home
Specialties (DHS), Interior
Designers Kim Norman and Angie
